19 APRIL 2021, BY Merdeka Award
“One of the most rewarding aspects of presenting the grant each year is getting to be part of this next step in the journey of a young Malaysian, in pursuit of his or her aspirations. I am greatly heartened by their energy and by their determination to make a difference in the world.”

Young, talented, and passionate Malaysian researchers who believe that their idea will rock the world need not look further. The opportunity to gain diverse and international scrutiny or collaboration with other like-minded talents  that will usher in distinction in your career and future is now here.

This is the springboard that the prestigious Merdeka Awards Grant for International Attachment, provides the young and talented of Malaysia in their journey of excellence.

Since 2012, the Grant has honoured and rewarded young Malaysian talents between the age of 22 and 35, for their unrelenting dedication and contribution to the future of Malaysia and its people. It has afforded a pivotal platform for the transformation and elevation of knowledge, careers and global networking for successful recipients.

Recipients are presented with an exceptional opportunity for international placement at recognised host institutions offering short-term attachment programmes. This enables distinguished young Malaysians to engage in collaborative efforts that enhance their work, expertise, and achievements.

It facilitates collaborations and working relationships with global experts in their field of study, creating a unique and critical platform for knowledge transfer. This in turn increases the expertise and experience of recipients as they collaborate, build, and innovate upon their own body of work.

The Grant also provides an opportunity for members of society to be a part of this exciting initiative that brings positive change while developing wholesome community initiatives. Organisations and philanthropists are encouraged to join the giving experience and partake of the celebration of achievements.

Since its introduction,19 exemplary young Malaysians have successfully received the Grant and have emerged as champions of innovation and excellence. Past winners view this Grant  as a defining event in their careers and lives, facilitating a greater sense of achievement and excellence in their work.

If you are in hot pursuit for excellence, and want to boost your journey of discovery, apply now to reimagine your future!
