Helping Grassroots Businesses Increase Their Share of the Pie
Koh Lily, a brilliant postgraduate of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), was awarded with the Merdeka Award Grant for International Attachment for her research entitled “How Small and Medium Enterprises’ (SMEs) can strategically position themselves in the value chain in the midst of Industry 4.0”.
Koh’s study on developing expertise and academic exchanges on data-driven business models aims to help Malaysian SMEs position themselves strategically in the value chain.

Ms Koh Lily, 24, will both have the opportunity to undergo an attachment of up to three months abroad, where they will enhance their research work, establish a wider network of contacts, and share their new-found knowledge and experience with other Malaysian researchers in their field when they return.
