Dr. Mohd Sukor Su’ait has been on a quest for sustainable solutions for solar cells—using innovative polymer electrolytes derived from palm oil.

Dr. Sukor is driving Malaysia’s clean energy future with safer, affordable energy conversion technologies. With 130+ publications and global collaborations, he’s advancing materials science and putting Malaysia on the map for low-carbon innovation.

A former ASEAN Future Scientist, he represented Malaysia at the Nobel Laureates Meeting in Lindau, Germany. He continues to mentor next-gen scientists, proving that homegrown talent can drive real change. Nominated by the Academy of Science Malaysia, he’s also represented the country at global science platforms in Australia and South Africa.

Dr. Sukor was named as a Merdeka Award Grant for International Attachment recipient in 2015 and this allowed him to investigate promising Malaysian commodities, particularly palm-based polymer, in a solid-state solar cell at Ecolé Polytechnique Fé.
