Energizing Tomorrow with Innovative Materials from Malaysian Palm Oil
Born on March 20, 1985 in Penang, Malaysia, Mohd Sukor Su’ait pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Technology and Master degree in Chemistry at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Sukor's research interests revolve around electrochemical materials for energy conversion and storage devices, encompassing solar cells and batteries. With nearly 40 international scientific articles published in refereed journals and an h-index of 11 (>500 citations), he has established himself as a notable researcher in his field.

From PhD Excellence to International Recognition
In 2014, Sukor concluded his Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry at UKM, earning acknowledgment for his outstanding contribution with the "MTDC Book Prize" which recognises excellent research output by a PhD graduate.

Acknowledged as an "ASEAN Future Scientist" by The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2009,  he also represented ASEAN as a "Young Scientist" at the 59th Nobel Laureates meeting in Lindau, Germany.

Sukor was named as a Merdeka Award Grant for International Attchment recipient in 2015 and this allowed him to investigate promising Malaysian commodities, particularly palm-based polymer, in a solid-state solar cell at Ecolé Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland.

In late 2018, Dr Sukor became the Chair of the Science Communication working group at the Young Scientist Network – Malaysia Academy of Sciences, with his team earning a silver medal at iFSC2016 and accolades at international exhibitions like ITEX2016, IIDEX2015, and MTE2016.
